UAA's A-Z guide to technology

Faculty Senate Home

Core values

  1. Learning is the driving force; instruction is the way to impart learning.
  2. Accreditation is essential, as formal recognition of our learning processes.
  3. Technology is but one of the tools we use in instruction and learning; it does not drive instruction.
  4. As a tool, technology must:
    1. Have a direct and positive impact on learning.
    2. Be reliable and available when and where it is needed.
    3. Be easy to use or well supported by technical staff.
  5. Objective research, direct faculty evaluation of technology tools and sound student feedback about learning effectiveness are the only ways to effectively evaluate, select and maintain technology tools.
